You might be wondering where, why, and/or how I came up with this name for my blog. And there is no better joke than one that is explained in really great detail, right? 

It all started late one evening when I decided that not only was I going to start this blog, but that I was also going to tell a bunch of my close friends that I was starting this blog too. Boom, pressure was on to make this dream a reality! Admittedly, I only told them because I needed their creative power to come up with a name for this blog…and probably some external motivation to get things a-moving. But alas. 

A lot of ideas were thrown out there, some serious ones, some really, really funny ones that I definitely could not use 😂, and my brother even sent me a list of 25 ChatGPT-generated blog names. But the best name I could come up with came to me the next morning…as soon as I woke up. Literally. My alarm goes off, I take a few moments to gain true consciousness, and then immediately I think: “talksicology.” Fantastic name, no?

Well, turns out I’m not as creative and unique as I think I am, because after sharing my fantastic blog name with all of my friends, I THEN look it up and learn that something named “talksicology” already exists. Initially I was totally bummed. But then I looked at what their podcast is about, and I was really happy that “talksicology” already exists. Their podcast talks about addiction, recovery, and sobriety. It’s a really important and heavy topic, and so I’m happy that their podcast exists and that they have the most fantastic name I could ever think of for a podcast (ever). Check them out!! Now back to my blog. I kept trying to come up with a new name…and I eventually settled on intalksicology 🙈 I know it is still realllllly similar to their name, and hopefully it is okay 🤞 (imitation is the best form of flattery?)…only time will tell if it is okay or not. But in the meantime, it DOES fit! Because if you follow my Twitter (knicki_bergman_), you see that I often joke that I’m a “Future Toxicologist, Current Intoxicologist (I make fancy cocktails).” So now this name REALLY encompasses all that I am: IN (intoxicologist…also known as a mixologist…check out my cocktail recipes page), TALKS (communicator), ICOLOGIST (toxicologist…though she be but a second year graduate student, she is still (already) a toxicologist).

So, yeah, that’s the long, explained version for the name. I hope you like it. If you don’t…then come up with something better 😜 And please don’t tell me about it, because then I might be filled with regret. Also, exciting news, blog logo COMING SOON!!!!
